Drew Yanno
DREW YANNO has been writing for film since 1993 and has been a member of the WGA since 1995. Drew's first script BANCA’S RAVIOLIS was a finalist in the inaugural Massachusetts Film Office Screenwriting Competition. A year later he sold his action/adventure script NO SAFE HAVEN to Universal Studios. The screenplay was the subject of a bidding war and sold in less than eight hours. Since then, Drew has written scripts ranging from romantic comedy to neo-noir to historical. His latest is a sports drama. In addition to writing, Drew has been teaching screenwriting in the Film Studies Department at Boston College since September 2000. Drew has also taught a variety of workshops, most recently through Grub Street, a not-for-profit, independent writing center based in Boston. A number of Drew’s former students have sold or optioned their scripts, won screenwriting competitions, and have worked or are currently working in television and film in Hollywood. Drew has appeared often on television and radio to discuss films and screenwriting. He has also been featured in Daily Variety, the Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly, along with numerous other magazines and newspapers. Drew's book THE THIRD ACT - WRITING A GREAT ENDING TO YOUR SCREENPLAY was published by Continuum International Publishing Group in September 2006. THE THIRD ACT is available online and in bookstores everywhere.
